To Kenzie Jo, my granddaughter ~ in monorhyme

I Still Love You More

by Debi Pick Marquette

When you were only three or four

You asked me to play on the floor

I couldn't cause my back was sore

But told you that I love you more

And as a teen, a dear for sure

We had a wonderful rapport

So, as we text, we always swore

We loved the other one much more

If I would need help with a chore

I knew you never would ignore

You'd help with what I'd need you for

You'd say it's 'cause you love me more

You've grown lovelier than before

And as your career starts to soar

With art you're an entrepreneur

I'm proud to say I love you more

It's not like we are keeping score

But it is you that I adore

You're everything to me, therefore

I still am loving you much more

So, hear my emotions outpour

I'll always love you more, and more, and more and more!!!

It is not Kenzie's birthday. We still do the "I love you more" texts. So, this poem started as a little joke to her in a text message the other day. Then, I had the idea to write it in an actual poem for her.
