The problem with fame.

You Will Have To Pay

by nomi338

Sometimes I wish that I could hide, quickly going to another place

Cause when the fans see my face, they come up to me and say,

“Ooh you’re a superstar! I just love your sexy car!”

But what they never see, is the reality behind the fantasy

You must dance to the music on automatic replay

Even if you get by you will still have to pay

Sometimes I wish that I could overcome my fear of gossip, ever near

They say you’ve found another, a younger and better lover

Whether true or not, I wish that I was tougher

I must face the reality hiding behind the fantasy

I dance to the music on automatic replay

Even if I get by, I will still have to pay

Fortune and fame, such a lovely game, but losing causes pain

While on top, everything seems fine, but if you fall off, on ashes you will dine

No one will accept or return your call, old friends say, they don’t remember you at all

this is the reality that hides behind the fantasy

prepare to dance to the music, on automatic replay

You might get by, but you will still have to pay.

In the spotlight’s glare, I dance and spin, implying that I always win

Yet behind the curtain, as shadows begin to creep,

My grip on my celebrity; I fiercely fight to keep.

Always present is the reality behind the fantasy

Prepare to dance on automatic replay

Even when you get by you know—you will still have to pay.

Being famous can be cursed. Those who desire it rarely know about the struggles to gain fame and then to hold onto it. The challenge from newcomers is an all day everyday struggle.
