Exceptional

Uh huh, don't we all suffer needlessly?

Ah, Relationships

by victortouche

Nonchalant and arrogant.
Hmm, not perhaps
the response one
hopes for, eh?

Time to self-reflect.

Ok...but,
for how many years?

Yes, certainly
a sad conundrum.

Two people,
same relationship.
And two
widely divergent views.

How?
How is this possible?

I mean,
I know I have not
distorted a thing.

I calls things
as they are.

Uh huh.
Have you read her poem?

One of us is
highly mistaken.
Or...a liar.

My my,
how do things get
so out of hand?

"You coming over?"
I ask.

"Doubtful."

(oh, how we hurt each other)

"ohhh, k."

"You coming over?"

"Sure, if you want.
Ok, I'll be leaving
in a few minutes."

"I'm just going upstairs.
Don't we both have to get up early?"

"Oh, sorry. Yes.
We'll talk tomorrow, Pumpkin."

"Did we talk today?"

(does anyone realize this is an answer that demoralizes the recipient?)
(and, depending on how long this has been so...essentially means the end.)
(yet, still we go on...hoping)

"Nonchalant and arrogant.
Yes, I know you are hurting.
I have tried, for a very long time
to be supportive. Especially now.
but you say one thing and entail another.
Your reply, yes, this one,
is quite painful to read.
It seems like we live in parallel dimensions."

I, continue.

"Still anger, eh?"
It's so sad.
Especially when you have
what you profess you want.
But the mirror has changed
its reflections, I presume."

Every day
a dream's
demise.

Well, I am not sure I should post this.
Yet, I feel fairly certain this envelopes many
relationships at different times. I ask, naively, of course,
why? Why must two people who love one another do this
to each other? Doers not everyone realize that every day a policeman listens to two completely different stories about the SAME accident?

Should we not all start anew each day?
Forgive and forget?
I guess not, as it never seems to work out that way.

Oh, and yes I used " I calls things" on purpose. Thanks you. lol
