Parts of my Body are...Part Fiction~Part Non-Fiction

Parts are Parts

Two major operations have left metal in my spine

A new bionic woman, fashioned by doctor's design

So I'm four inches shorter than I was ten years ago

That seems to make my body shape look like the letter O

My eyes are having trouble and they don't see very clear

The positive in that I can't see myself in the mirror

My body is a mess; most of my joints have been replaced

Instead, I should have taken them to church and have them graced

I can't make up my mind to have my shoulder surgery

My ortho doctor says he has a bone to pick with me

My husband came into my life and he would steal my heart

Yet, one thing that I've kept from him, he's never heard me...

The parts inside my body that you can't see with your eyes

Some have been taken out and now there's room to organ-ize

I sharpen up my brain by reading/writing when alone

That's also been a way to help to sharpen my backbone

I know when it's my time to go, my eyes will have to wait

The pupils will be last to go, cause they will both di-late

I have taken some poetic license to use mirror and clear as rhymes, embracing the flexibility of language to enhance the poems rhythm and meaning.
