Broken Trust

by Lobber

You came to me with words undone,
In search of light where love had spun.
A friend in need, I bared my soul,
I gave you pieces, made you whole.

I shared with you, what once was mine —
A poem of stars, a love divine.
You took its form, its breath, its heart,
And made it yours—tore mine apart.

You changed the names, you turned the tide,
But kept the flame that burned inside.
And when you won, you laughed, you lied,
The truth fell loose, your smile wide.

The crown you wear, of tarnished things,
With hollow praise and paper wings. . .
Yet deeper still, what’s truly lost —
A friendship shattered at the cost.

You stole not just the rhyme or fame,
But something wrapped in trust, . . . my name.
For words can shift, but truth remains,
Now all that’s left is bitter stains.

No more to share, no more to say,
The bond we held has slipped away.
What once was ours, now turned to dust —
A friendship wrecked by broken trust.

No laurels left, no ties to mend,
The cost of theft — a bitter end.
So, here I stand, betrayed, alone —
The poem no longer feels my own.
