Frost

by EeanBlack

A crippling frost has covered the earth
Absent is warmth and love
We do not see love for each other
We see none from above

War and famine, death and destruction
We help our brothers die
We take the shot, the aim we know not
It whistled through the sky

It landed so true and when it blew
It took their souls so fast
Don't ever think or dream about it
They say this too shall pass

Each morning I wake, each day I pray
Give me what I deserve
Took innocent souls, God only knows
The penance I must serve

Life without sleep, hell I got off cheap
Sanity was my cost
My heart an iceberg, my life a heap
Keep praying for that frost
