An Attitude Adjustment

Pandemic PJ's

by Ginda Simpson

I am pulled from my bed

by piano keys

playing Habanera.

The strings of a cello

bring my bare feet

to the floor

inviting me to dance

to not say things like

Another day in

Pandemic Paradise

an oft repeated

morning mantra

seasoned with sarcasm.

Bizet invites me

to mend my mental posture.

So

I stride, I glide

I bend, I dip

I sway, I play.

I let my pj’s drop

slowly and sensually

to the floor.

I am the diva

of this new day.

My heart sings out.

My audience applauds.

Bravissima.
