Childhood innocence

We have a hitch on our car

by Joanne Gill-Maddick

This is a favourite memory of mine.

It comes to mind from time to time.

We know kids say the darndest things.

The innocence a little child brings.

The family was discussing how we can’t take things with us when we die.

My nephew thought that was strange and couldn’t understand why!

“Us can, us can,he exclaims! We have a hitch on our car.”

We can have our things with us wherever we are.

The innocence through the eyes of a child is simply divine.

I will never forget that memory of a wonderful moment in time.
