Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
Girl trapped in herself.

Disheartened Delusions

by Libby Keers

Unwillingly she sat.

Head tilted to the sky,

eyelids rested with power.

Already destined for a chosen fate

for she was too indifferent
of her Own reality.

Blankets and sheets,

walls and windows,

each attached to her dwelling

held only

Delusion.

Her extroverted fantasies,

trapped within the four walls

of her rectangular room,

bothered the neighbors;

They banged so loud.

The only setting she’d

found content

was her dreams.

Each one so different,

it let her run

just far enough

till the thrill stopped

and the sheets and blankets

and walls and windows

Called her name,

and like that.

transported the girl

to her reality,

that she thought so Little about.

In the finite,

complex human lifespan

the mind escapeth through time,

with the help of a passion

dipping its toes

In the pool of actuality

but never jumping in.

Her unfulfilled,

Disheartened delusion.

Ever her snores

have an underlying

Melancholic tone.
