Finding Joy in Every Little Indulgence

The Temptation Tango

by Patty Mazzurco

Temptation Poetry Contest Winner
Temptation comes with a sneaky grin,
With a cookie or a shoe sale, it’s hard to win.
It whispers sweetly, “Just one little try,”
But one turns to two, and the limit flies by.

It’s that extra slice of pizza, bubbling and cheesy,
Or a shopping spree that feels oh-so-easy.
Temptation’s voice is smooth and clear,
Like a whisper that draws you near.

But as you indulge, and the moment does pass,
You might find yourself with a little more mass.
So laugh at temptation, don’t let it take its toll,
Sometimes a little indulgence
can
nourish
the
soul!
