Rhyme Schemer Me

Rhyme It Contest Winner 
When it comes to writing poetry,
I’m just an old Rhyme Schemer.
A rhyme gives writing rhythm,
Rhythm is music to this dreamer.
 
Poems without a rhyme scheme?
Like a hug without a kiss,
Like a cart without a horse, 
Like a that without a this.
 
Dr. Seuss believed in rhyming,
And, so did Edgar Allen Poe!
The Bard’s “Sonnets” rhymed.
Emily Dickenson! Maya Angelou!
 
We who have something to write,
Something special in love or wit,
Something to be remembered?
A rhyme helps all remember it!
 
For rhythmic rhyme? Bottom line:
Prior to pen, Thesaurus and wine!
