In the Eye of the Storm

by John Cranford

Through raging waves, no hope I see;
The angry storm's surrounding me.
Tossed about as each towering wave,
Tries to send me to a wat'ry grave.

Just when my strength has all run dry,
I find myself within the eye.
The storm has loosened its hold on me.
And through the dark clouds, blue sky I see.

Although the storm again will grip,
And swirl about my little ship;
His unseen footprints will be my guide,
Through waters rough to the other side.

So when life's storms on you assail,
Don't be afraid within the gale.
The eye of the storm is where He'll smile,
And calmly whisper, "Trust Me, My child."

"He stilled the storm to a whisper, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and He brought them to their desired haven." -- Psalm 107:29-30.
