Ten years later after kids copied animals, I found copy cats

Copy Cats

by Debi Pick Marquette

I found something that I could do

With grandkids that was fun

I took them to a circus zoo

It would be our first one

The kids would get the biggest kick

To see each animal

They each knew how to do a trick

From zebras to a bull

But what they truly thought was best

They laughed until they cried

An ostrich who became a pest

And would not leave our side

He made some faces with his beak

The kids would make them back

The bird and kids then all would squeak

For one more sugar snack

In car more noises they would make

Now I needed my space

A nice picture I tried to take

But they would make a face

Ten years since picture and that day

My fun face-acrobats

Last week I found and said, "No Way"

Picture of copy cats

I just found it so funny that ten years after I take the kids to the circus-zoo and they had so much fun making animal faces, I would find this picture of the cats looking a lot like my kid's picture. That is why I called them the copy cats.
