Women should be treated as equals
How To Treat A Woman
by Carole Hannan

Don't boss her, or cross her
Or toss her aside
Just hear her, revere her
And stand by her side
Don't ask her to bask in
The glow of your light
Just glory in her story
And share the spotlight
Don't cheat her, defeat her
Her dignity batter
Make sure that you treat her
As though she, too, matters
Don't use her, abuse her
Or ever be cruel
Respect her, protect her
She's not to be ruled
Don't hurt her, desert her
Or treat her like dirt
Let go of your ego
Acknowledge her worth
Don't blame her, or shame her
Or call her coarse names
Just sleep with her, weep with her
Deep down you're the same
Don't boss her, or cross her
Or toss her aside
Just hear her, revere her
And stand by her side
Don't ask her to bask in
The glow of your light
Just glory in her story
And share the spotlight
Don't cheat her, defeat her
Her dignity batter
Make sure that you treat her
As though she, too, matters
Don't use her, abuse her
Or ever be cruel
Respect her, protect her
She's not to be ruled
Don't hurt her, desert her
Or treat her like dirt
Let go of your ego
Acknowledge her worth
Don't blame her, or shame her
Or call her coarse names
Just sleep with her, weep with her
Deep down you're the same

I grew up in a time when women were not treated with respect, but had started to demand it. So much has changed since then. I am grateful for those women who stood up for equal rights.
