Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
A dalliance in the shadows

Highway Hunter

Trucker Rick was a cocky sport
Brimming with easy guile
At first glance a charming sort
Save blank eyes behind the smile
 
With wink and nod Rick's gaze did scour
as if hunting the busy diner
Unaware of this dangerous hour
The waitress missed the girl behind her

Samantha was a local lass
as bright her beauty shined
She walked into her truck stop last
where the predator now dined.
 
Rick did on cue
               what sociopaths do....
no one was the wiser.
 
Once satiated, Rick changed gears
he thrived along the highway
Now 30 years disappeared
Samantha lies along some byway
