An honest description of Family

Family

Why is it that the conflict
     we experience in our families
     is more confronting of us
     than any conflict 
     we ever experience anywhere else? 
 
Why is it that it is in the family
     where we will experience
     both passionate love
     and hostile hate? 
 
It seems that the family
     is the most intimate setting
     in which we have to learn
     how to be fit to live with. 
 
Yet,
     the lessons of such love and family
     are being taught by teachers
     who are themselves pupils. 
 
We
      learn about hypocrisy
      from hypocrites!
 
We
     learn about forgiveness from people
     who are still learning how to forgive. 
 
It is in the family
     where people really know who we are.
 
It is in the family
     where people will love us
     in spite of ourselves. 
     Not because of...
      
Perhaps 
      that is why Jesus
      described the family
      as a model for the Kingdom of God:
      Full of conflict and hypocrisy...
 
That God loves us still.
      In spite of...
