Dad was our idol, so staunch and strong Helping us to learn when we were wrong Mother's love helped through every storm Kisses and hugs, her tenderness kept us warm   Brother and sister echoing through the years Building forts of dreams, helpful volunteers Like links of steel forged in fire’s blazing heat Our family bond, a chain tight and complete   Though each unique and sometimes contrary Together, our family is a sheltering sanctuary Through happy days and storms that thunder Our chain of love, we know, will not be sundered   Though separated by miles, stretching wide Our hearts still entwined, love is never denied
