Spooky Evening

by RJ

On a chilly night when stars did gleam,
A pumpkin grinned. It felt like a dream.
A witch with a broom and short hair cat,
Waits patiently for kids on their tracks.

The lady, dressed in her witch attire,
Casted a grin that could start a fire.
Her cauldron bubbled with candy galore,
Kids tiptoed closer, eager for more.

The black cat purred with eyes all aglow,
Observing the scene's new ebb and flow.
Its tail swished with mischief in its stare,
As children approached with cautious care.

"Trick or treat!" they chorused in delight,
Eager for sweets on this spooky night.
The witch's voice cast a spell with glee,
Handing out candy before they flee.

The stars above twinkled with bright light,
As laughter echoed into the night.
The pumpkin's grin grew wider still,
As this Halloween became a thrill.

So, if on a cold, dark, quiet night,
There is a witch with her broom in sight.
Keep in mind that magic is now near.
On Halloween, many spooks appear.
