Of All The Men (a sonnet)

Of all the men that I have ever known,

you gracefully pursue my damaged soul.

So gently you dissolve my walls of stone,

without the harm or dangers of control.

This drowning in my dark, malignant seas,

of jagged cliffs I could not hope to scale,

to triumph over judgements such as these,

persuades the strength and freedom to this tale.

But this is not my pinnacle of joy,

reciprocation validates within.

The bidding of my love you do employ.

I witness solid steps as you begin.

Of all the men whose lives I did traverse,

you are the one I celebrate in verse.
