Reflections
That Night in June
Winds whisper through the willow trees.
Clouds dance around the silv'ry moon
that shimmers on the rambling brook.
Reminders of that night in June
Surreal the sounds that fill the night
as crickets chirp and night owls' croon.
Familiar as the nightingale.
Reminders of that night in June.
Another scene comes into view.
A crazy, zany old cartoon
when we were young and lilywhite.
Forerunner of that night in June.
We stroll beyond the rambling brook
and listen to another tune.
A serenade meant for us two.
Sweet mem'ries of that night in June.
Sensations from your tender touch.
Your arms feel like a warm cocoon.
The murmurs lovers dare to share
as we recall that night in June.
You showed me yours- I showed you mine
as rockets soared beyond the moon.
We may not have tomorrow but --
I'll always have that night in June.

Beautiful memories are always precious but especially when you go from spouse and lover to care giver and friend over night.
