Halmeoni

Shuffling feet while planting her cane, gripping hands push and pull Halmeoni, mindfully inside the house her great-grandchildren call home.
She clutched her purse, while lovingly manhandled into the softest, comfiest parlor chair.
Her multicolored cane is set across the arms of the chair to assist as a protective barrier between her and the little ones she has come to see. When the grownups return to their kitchen duties or the football game in another room, she removes the cane and smothers the children in her arms to tell stories and fill them with gwaja, Korean sweets from her purse.
