Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Too many guns, too many shootings.

The Shooter

The author has placed a warning on this post for violence.

I did not want to hurt anyone,
I only wanted to shoot my gun.
Maybe I was wrong to shoot that kid,
Guess I should be sorry for what I did.

I did not know he was just a child,
But some of these folks are pretty wild.
It was late and sleep was in my eyes,
Is it a crime if nobody dies?

Stated I was afraid for my life,
It is my job to protect my wife.
I am sorry for what I've done,
But you cannot take away my gun.

I am not advocating the taking away of anyone's gun or right to own a gun. I am advocating against the reckless use of firearms that have resulted in so many unnecessary and unintended deaths.
