With my eyes open, I acted blind.
Warnings were issued, I paid them no mind.
Did not trust what I felt, so I was confused.
And as a result, I was abused.
In a place where I could be taught or worship in peace.
Never guessed this might be the day my life could cease.
Here on Earth no place is secure.
Evil now covers the land like manure.
Down in writing, it is already taking place.
It's probably a good thing; we can't see God's face.
The god of hate never stops causing tears.
In the abyss he'll be restrained, for one thousand years.

This is a small reminder that no place is safe. School, groceries, even churches. They all invite danger, all the more so as they have not always been your usual targets. The book of Revelation Chapter 20, verses 1-3 discuss the abyss: And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2 He seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for 1,000 years. 3 And he hurled him into the abyss and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not mislead the nations anymore until the 1,000 years were ended. After this he must be released for a little while.
