Agree or not, my colors are ...

Black and White

by Tom Horonzy

Is it colorlessness
expressionless
or is it distinctive
on its own?

A pluperfect example
would be, for me,
achromatic photography
by Ansel Adams;
which I find to be
exsanguinous,
yet full of life.

Another something,
blanched and bleached,
would be a newspaper.
Though lacking pigmentation
an imaginative journalist
can compose a canvas
to have it become
a cloak of many colors.

And lest I forget,
the animal kingdom
has dapper penguins,
dashing orcas
and rakish skunks
seeming wearing
dinner jackets
called tuxedos.

Lastly,
 I'd like to say truth
is black and white
but between the two
are shades of gray
so I'd be lying.

Writing Prompt
Choose a color and tell us why it'd be your choice.
Be it long or be it short; an essay, poem or song. Whatever, there are no restrictions, t'all.

Creativeness aside, some may argue black is the absence of color. If so, why are there as many as 50 to 100 shades. Because, anything other than true black is therefore a very dark shade of another color. Go figure.

exsanguinous - without blood = alive
I may have prostituted exsanquine for literary purpose.
