Reflections of Life

by poetwatch

If I could paint a picture
what would it say?
Living a life of happiness or feeling a life of pain?
I guess I should be happy
I'm still around
to see the sunrise
and one day
I shall see the sun set.

Yet, I have seen the rise of nations
and felt the fall of disgrace.
I have loved and been loved
by goodness and with grace.
I will live forever
as the flowers grow in splendor.
With their beauty, there's a smile,
a sign from heaven.

Still, temptations were my downfall
and my wings were clipped.

Now, I ask forgiveness,
for the reflections in my life.
As snow gathers within my mind
I forget what I've done.
All I recall is I was young
and it felt good.

Yet, it was wrong.
Have a good life.

Just a walk in memory lane, not in all scenes of life was I a saint.
