Mum was less than happy, Dad was positively furious... and I'd expected them to be supportive. After all, I'd still be living near home and I'd be able to visit.
'So you're choosing him over us?' Dad said. It wasn't really a question, but a statement.
'Won't you miss your room?' This was Mum, trying to lure me using my love of pretty things. 'You know your cell in the convent will be quite austere.'
