Here's a poser -
When Does Old Begin

Could it begin at birth?
I'm not speaking of being OLD
only answering the question - when?
Is OLD pejorative?
As a child, I was informed
I acted senior in my class
of six-year-olds.
Dictionary.com defines Old
as being advanced in years.
From what? Our teens?
That might be disparaging.
Or perhaps, it's when we wed
to become a married-OLD-man
or a gray old maiden,
but please don't tell the missus.
Old for professional athletes
comes earlier than other professions
when the hill becomes to steep to climb.
Then comes retirement.
When you are too young to leave,
but too OLD to stay because
there's a younger version of you
for half the pay.
Finally, turning seventy
you see, for the first time
OLD looking from your mirror.
Perhaps, the better question
is when does OLD end?
No need to answer.
