Self Taught

by patcelaw

She said, "I cannot teach you,
because you are left-handed."
she never tried to teach me.,

What she did not realize,
I mostly used my right hand
so, taught myself using books..

When I was young, I wanted to learn to crochet and asked mom to teach me. But she claimed, she could not teach me since I was left-handed. However later in life she did teach my left-handed sister, to crochet.
As an adult, I prayed and asked God to help me learn those things I wanted to do. He gave me the ability to learn.
I learned to knit using books. The photo is of a bedspread I knitted in one piece. I designed it and entered it in a state fair, where I won second best of show.

Each line of the poem has seven syllables and is not rhyming.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
