What A Sunday Evening Service!

by Deniz22

It is a Sunday night service, I shall never forget,
we were all there, filled with fear and regret.

Peter was subdued, for once, a leader in shame,
we followed along, silently, sharing the blame.

How could we, who had boasted fidelity brazen,
have run so quickly, when the Master was taken?

We were stunned, the Man of miracles and power,
seemed so human and powerless, in that dread hour.

So, we languished, disciples of misery, apostles of fear,
but in a flash, all changed; Jesus came, He was here!

He was ALIVE and smiling away our fears and shame,
'tis the experience of all who know His glorious Name.

So, we stood together, basking in His unchanged love,
marveling at His resurrection body, so fitted for above.

He stopped by on His way to share His Father's glory,
breathed on us the Holy Spirt, so we can tell His story.

The Jesus taken in the garden was not without defender,
but became a willing sacrifice, to save the worst offender.

Now, as promised His ransomed Bride, soon He shall return,
and anticipating the Rapture, may our hearts continually burn!
