Yule Have A Wordy New Year!

Like Christmas gifts which keep on giving,
Our group of writers with which I’m living.
Heaven knows we’re not the same
Some are clever, most I can’t name
Some judge tough, most are forgiving.

We who were not writers once by trade
Found other ways of our living made
Some in business, some school,
Some hammer, saw, other tool
But, deep inside, writing did not fade.

So, we write, we post, we pray then wait
For feedback, praise and votes at gate
We write most to please ourselves
Yet, love praise from other writing elves...
Most write more for fun than debate.

Writing, alone, we have but one to please
And that is ourself, and we seldom freeze.
We scan the prompts and the timing
We decide ‘twix Free Verse or Rhyming
We find opportunities, then we seize!

Season’s Greetings, my friends, et al!
I toast FanStory and all of y’all.
You share your love of wit with me
And post your best for all to see
May your New Year have many prompt’s call!
