Woke up blind in the middle of the night
Cold and dark hanging from bed to ceiling
No power meant no heat or coffee
Five fitful hours of on and off sleep
Then the power came back on, hallelujah
Everything on track for the daylight attack
Just as quick as it appeared, it outed again
My spirits plunged to the basement,
Which was a trick, since we don't have one
Morning stayed dark as I arose at six,
Stumbled my way through breakfast
By flashlight’s light, twisted shadows and
swear word oaths kept me company
Then let there be light it was back on,
All was right as rain, until I tried the T. V.
A fresh burst of nasty erupted from my face
Cable’s still out which means no internet
So here I sit waiting impatiently, moodily
Curse words squelched with effort
As there’s nothing I can do, it’s routinus
Inturruptus: thrown off normal by abnormal!
