With a joyful heart ...

Giving thanks always

by Wendy G

We do not have “Thanksgiving” Days –

But each day we can give Him praise,

Thankful for blessings we receive,

Grateful for comfort when we grieve,

Let’s show support to those in need. . .

And be alert to shackles of greed. . .

We’re thankful to God for all He's done,

For all His goodness, to everyone.

But, rather than feast, let’s prefer to be used

To help the vulnerable, the weak, the abused.

Yes, enjoy Thanksgiving – but also share

There’s plenty of people who need our care.

And when you say your Thanksgiving prayer,

Make it your lifestyle, every day, everywhere.

Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything (Ephesians 5:20)

Give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

My country does not celebrate "Thanksgiving Day", but we do not need to feel we are missing out ....we can still make it a lifestyle.
(I am still having trouble with spacing, apologies. It was to be two stanzas of six lines followed by two lines.)
