Love, From Your Best Friend

by Boogienights

A Friend In Heaven Contest Contest Winner

The moon and stars are shining bright,
I see them as I gaze at you.
From Heaven I can see your face,
you were the truest friend I knew.

Together we had shared so much,
the times when I was feeling blue.
You cheered me up with your sweet smile,
so sad our good times now are through.

Remember our days at the beach?
The books we shared? All Stephen King.
And Horror movies were our jam,
I guess, to be scared, was our thing.

I'm sorry that I left so soon,
God called me home when you weren't there.
I was asleep when Angels came,
I hope you know that I still care.

I'm glad your life is going well,
that you are happy, safe, and sound.
Just wanted to check in with you,
to let you know I'm still around.

Writing Prompt
