Boot Camp

by country ranch writer

This is the memories of the only boot camp I ever was involved in since I never went into the service. Rodeo Boot camp was as grueling as any boot camp.Being involved will make you a better person. Looking back over the years it's made me feel proud of my acomplishments. With faith in God and myself It had a great impact on my life and who I turned out to be
At the boot camp Callie, focused on the fundamentals that we would
need to help build our confidence and to learn better speaking skills with our team mates that we competed with.Barrel racing is very expensive. One slip and you have lost a whole lot of money.

Overcoming my frustration was a big problem for me.That is until I stooped and reminded Myself ,I had no one to blame but myself for not listening to those professionals teaching me Also learned to listen to my horse who too had to adjust to riding the barrels like were training to do, It wasn't easy at first but when I began to listen to my mentor Callie, which I began to I learned so much. A lot of it the hard way. She turned me into becoming a great champion in and out of the arena, she said it will make me feel that I can accomplish anything in the world and mentor meant it when she said it with all her heart. Callie, was more than a friend not only my mentor she just didn't teach me one otwo thing she taught
me a life time of experience. I am proud to call her my friend .
I have experienced many of the challenges and took on the responsibilities of riding, and loving, and caring for my partner my horse.
As I walked my horse out of the arena found myself smiling again not a smile one
of elation, but of accomplishment.I had taken a step toward my dream. I had survived boot
