cut my hair so high and tight
oh my goodness what a sight
Left! Right! Left! Right!
scrub the floors, sinks, and toilets so white
the Drill Instructor finds a speck of dirt with sinister delight
does it really matter, size, weight, and height
not with a well-trained marine in the fight
Left! Right! Left! Right!
they taught us to hit, kick, stomp, and bite
dig in with those chompers all shiny and white
Left! Right! Left! Right!
at twenty-one hundred there goes the light
a letter to home I was trying to write
Left! Right! Left! Right!
on graduation day sharp uniforms shine so very bright
signifying the United States Marines Corps unwavering might
