What is our function?

by royowen

What is my role in this dark world that's lost its weary way?
I will not judge, nor will I say, what is night, what is day?
How can I gently goad this thought, and say, "Our God's not pleased,
and knowing we're all sinners friend, His wrath is not appeased?"

And yet, though tender I must be, "The Lord doth love you all.,
He knew you cannot change all things, through Adam we all fall.
Now see those yonder mountains there, please tell me what you see,
they're pointing to the heavens, and, they do not hide nor flee?"

Don't point beyond the valley's depths, but look to God above,
He sent His Son Lord Jesus Christ to give His life in love.
For nothing else can please the Lord, but faith in sacrifice,
His blood that's shed can cleanse all souls, our faith pays every price.
