It crept along the window sill
Then moved across the pane
Spread across the eiderdown
and then moved on again

It trickled to the carpet
then climbed the bedroom wall
One moment it was with me,
next moment , not at all.

It disappeared and reappeared
like something in a dream
But happily, my visitor was
a shiny bright moonbeam.
