Evening Joy

My favorite time is evening
Relaxing at our family cabin
On the shore of a mountain lake
 
Watching the seeping sun
Spill melting orange sherbet
Onto serene, hushed water
As Sol begins his recline behind
Spikes of purple majestic peaks
 
We build our campfire
Hold hands and quietly
Watch the sinking sun
Each family member
Dreaming of tomorrows
 
While the HESPERIDES
Goddesses of sunset
Spread darkening twilight
While sewing silver stars
Across the evening sky
