Compassion has no nation

by royowen

Care's compassion has no nation
to wear its fragrant gown.
It has but one bright Monarch
who wears a jewelled crown.
And no one can possess its heart
yet can access its soul,
'twill never turn away its face,
to write on beauty's scroll.

If graciousness is godly,
then how are empires great?
If there's not love's sweet promise
how can a nation rate?
I've always watched and envied Him,
the quiet man who talks.
Speaks not with words, pleasing ears,
yet whispers as He walks.

His messengers, prevailing winds,
converse not with the ear.
But to the heart, provoking souls,
to live in Holy fear.
This world consists in perfect sync
yet man its robe will fray.
It would be so much better if
on knees he sought to pray.

Isaiah 65:1-3
I revealed Myself to those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. To a nation that did not call My name, I said, Here I am! Here I am! All day long I have held out My hands to an obstinate people who walk in the wrong path, who follow their own imaginations, to a people who continually provoke Me to My face, sacrificing in the gardens and burning incense on altars of brick,

Matthew 23:37
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!
