Tricks AND Treats

by Boogienights

Halloween poem for children. Contest Winner
Halloween is such a scream,
they'll be lots of spooky fun.
The pumpkins wait with patience,
for their faces to be done.

Ghosts and monsters roam for treats,
they're just a wee bit scary.
Going home with bags so full,
they might be hard to carry.

There's a dance held in the glen,
skeletons will prance all night.
Rattling those crazy bones,
underneath the full moon's light.

Black cats are out, a-howling,
on their favorite night of all.
Witches brew a tasty stew,
as a hoot owl sends it's call.

black and orange lights are strung,
on the bandstand in the park.
Later on, a spooky dance,
will be put on in the dark.

A ghostly band will play there,
eerie music, and they'll sing.
Banjos, drums, a tambourine,
are the instruments they'll bring.

They'll be some pumpkin cookies,
and apple cider punch.
The ghosts will watch with envy,
for on treats, they can not munch.

Then when the clock strikes midnight,
Halloween comes to an end.
There will be another one next year,
so don't be sad my friend.
