A simple poem with a twist

The Helping Hand

The little boy stood at the kerb,
looked left and then looked right.
He took the stranger's proffered hand
then held it firmly,tight.

They crossed the road together
as careful as could be
The little wide eyed open boy
and the man who could not see.
