Heaven Waits

I once feared Death, but now I'm old,
my fear is less, no longer bold.
For I believe there's something more,
that waits beyond Death's open door.

All those I've lost but dearly miss,
their voice, their touch, their gentle kiss,
will be at gates that I'll walk through,
that is if God allows me to.

Familiar faces that I know
will walk with me, the sights they'll show!
Then suddenly, my mother's arms,
that sheltered me once from all harms...

Will open wide, to them I'll fly,
like time stood still, had not passed by.
My father, brother, sister too,
will look the same as I once knew.

Then love will shower me that day
when Death decides to come my way.
So what I ask, is there to fear,
when God's face to you does appear?

For all grace given you at birth,
will follow when you leave this earth.
They'll be no tears, no need to cry,
once you return to God on high.
