Mother Who Doth Protest Too Much

Now, she heaves a staff
against abominations of womanhood
that makes any wo(e)man listen with hope
to her oratorical eloquence.
Note her staff
has never swung
in a comforting circumference
of protection
for no one who was violated.

Daughters,
(powerless rod)
Granddaughters,
(powerless rod)
Women friends,
(powerless rod)

No violator need fear her wrath
which never forces anyone
into desired decency.
She should just lower her useless stick,
let it fall by her side.
It serves no earthly purpose
and God already knows
of her impotent efforts
as do her unshielded children.
