My Advice To Mr. Frost

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I?"
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.


And yet...

Two roads laid out in the amber wood,
but why be sorrowful of this?
You pondered far too long my friend,
it's time to go, to take a risk.

You look, but cannot see what lies
beyond the distance your eyes gaze.
And though they both appear the same,
it's your unknown future that's in a haze.

Though either path may lead to joy,
or to the darkest days to come...
Please leap my friend, just take a step,
the journey for you has begun.

For if one road turns out to be
what you're not looking for, well then...
Turn back for it is not too late,
to take the other, begin again.

The taken road makes no difference,
regrets you may have, yet, maybe not...
It's the choices you make along the way,
you'll know what I mean if you give it some thought.
