Our divided country may mean the end of democracy.

I'm Worried Sick

I am worried sick about our country  
When the use of violence is endorsed,
As a “legitimate political discourse.”
 
I shudder to think that election deniers
These spiteful reality and truth decriers
Defend maiming and killing, as a
Valid means to achieve political end
 
Sixty court defeats and numerous re-counts
Proving that election fairness was paramount
Constitution demands peaceful transfer of power
If not obeyed, autocratic violence will devour
 
I beg those who continue to live in fantasy
Accept truth and proven election reality
Our county will not survive as Lincoln feared
“A house divided against itself cannot stand.”
And in due course democracy will disappear
