Hey, Did You Hear?

Hey! Did you hear about the traffic stop?
A four-year-old boy tried to shoot a cop!
Directed by his "loving parent" you see,
picked up his dad's gun, so dad could be free.

Hey! Did you see the kids beating on cops?
Their parents nearby, but no one yelled stop!
Is this how children are now being raised?
Wild and violent with parents unfazed?

Hey! Have you noticed that people aren't kind?
Or respectful to others? Or am I just blind?
Disruption and anger, the rule of the day,
how did our great country turn out this way?

Hey! Did you notice cops leaving the force?
Treated like shit with no voice of remorse!
I don't blame them, we must rearrange
this situation, things have to change.

Hey! Have you noticed that prices have soared?
Food and gas costs I just can't afford!
While thousands per day, 'cross our boarders are streaming,
does our government care? Of course not, keep dreaming!

I think it's quite purposeful, all that they've done,
the Biden train wreck started right on day one!
A needed pipeline shut down; how does the world rate us?
Now we beg for oil, from countries that hate us.

Hey! Did you see the thief walk out of the store?
Not paying at all as he went out the door.
The violence in cities cause people to fear,
the United States of Anger, why am I still here?

Like heat seeking missiles, that seek and destroy
are the ruinous policies left wingers employ.
Our president shakes hands but nobody's there,
he's in charge of the nukes, does anyone care?

If I had a magic wand I'd stand on a stump,
and pray that a spell would bring back Donald Trump.
You may not agree and that's okay too,
but a country in shambles also affects you.

God help us all, we're circling the drain,
I hurt for my country; it causes me pain.
To see the U. S. in the shape that it's in,
is it too late to change things, if we all now begin?
