Best Dog

Black and White Ball

They first called me Duchess, a very royal name
But that didn’t fit, just did not feel the same
I became Mabel, their black-and-white ball
Never letting them forget my royalty at all
 
Food served on a plate, it just will not do
Hand-feed me the first piece if you want me to chew
I will take my time; I want you to observe
The right way to digest the food I deserve
 
If you ignore me, I will be displeased
Like my toys I will tear you apart with ease
It’s done out of love because I know it’s true
We need each other, this corgi and you
