My Kindle

I love my little Amazon Kindle
Handy size of a small paperback book
I have hundreds of literary works on tap
Kind of neat, carrying a library in my pocket
No longer a need to find room on a shelf
I now read books I would have never tried before
Important, of course, ebooks are much cheaper
Often one-half the price of a book store hard copy
There are even offerings of free ebooks, if one looks
As a result of owning a Kindle, I’m reading much more
 
When I’m in the mood to read
I simply flip open my Kindle
Best of all, the print is never too small
I can size it to please my failing eyeballs
At night, no more need to struggle to adjust
A headlamp strap or a booklight clamp
My Kindle glows with a soft back light
Easy to hold and read in bed, best of all
When I fall asleep, Kindle shuts itself off
One of the best investments ever made
Only thing missing is the new book smell
