Commuting Lovers

We slept close to each other in our bed for many years
These nights, no matter how we toss or turn, we snore
We enjoyed being near enough to touch each other
It was a great comfort for us to sleep in our bed together
 
But now with our crashing snores we awaken each other
We are upset and despondent because we get little rest
Reluctantly, we condemned ourselves to separate bedrooms
Now we must travel across the upstairs hall to make love
 
I guess one might say we are now commuting lovers
