A poem
Walking up the "mountain" in the infancy of day.
To visit the creatures who are eager to play.
They were waiting for feeding and good company.
I hope they are happy that it comes from me.
I'm feeding the squirrels.
The sun came out and parted the clouds.
Which of course gathered the crowds.
Well, that's what I guessed.
But hardly anyone around to leave me stressed.
As I visit the squirrels.
Others followed, of the feathered variety.
To make themselves known to society.
I greeted a robin and held a bluetit on my hand.
Only a fellow nature lover would understand.
When I went to see the squirrels.
Getting there was a pain in my legs and my mind.
But I was determined to leave the city behind.
No company could comfort me so.
Like the animals that I've come to know.
Birds, bees, flowers, trees and the squirrels.
